carrion / Destiny Turner

a very brave face

I wear

my words

a mask

a shadowed trajectory

an ancient curse

my vision is rose colored at just

five letters

and

a pause.

the ropes holding my stomach fall

the only thing that makes my blood bloom

picking petals always

but,

I already know you don't love me

the grave would call my name if I saw you again

the lesson is unfelt over half the time now

Tell me how I got here again?

against my will I am conscious

the path back to before I knew your fingertips

It’s just so long

Destiny Turner is a self-taught artist originally from Brookwood, Alabama. Currently residing in a small Ohio town. Destiny works in multiple mediums - paint, photography, floral, video, poetry, and sculpture.

“I try to reproduce emotions on the deepest level by any means possible.” the artist says.

Stephen Romano Gallery recently wrote of her art - “The lucidness of the materials, the presence of human touch, it’s all very life-affirming. Very biological. An alchemical marriage of the quintessential elements that form life.”
