Moon in Memphis

Raw edge of your sun
my moon phantom of your day

How I imagine you
leaning against the howl of evenings
with shoulders set like amber into stone

How I imagine you
with ragged pockets that remind me of Memphis
standing in a truth of remote origin

E10

Drumming unrest through fragments
you are motorcycle flesh
this road is now a river
tensile as the lightning of your name

O

Sand mandala eyes
legs of sport
merciful diamond shoulders

Broad tears
expansive skin of sun
a barreling, secret hinge

The torso
the big white canvas
abruptness
counting backward

Violet delivers a memento of radiation
the latter re folds and abuses fabric
stinging the needle

Boats set aoat
a precipice gently lifts her head
it is irresistible and precious

A true fortune
from south to north
